How designers think
Observe
Start by looking. Fabric, streets, people, a grandmother's saree, the way a sleeve hangs. Research comes before the first line.
Ideate
Put it on paper. Sketches, notes and mood boards, and several wrong answers before a right one.
Prototype
Cut the pattern. Drape it, pin it and sew a first version to find out what the drawing got wrong.
Test
Fit it, show it, sell it. The garment meets a body, a runway and a customer.

Sutradhar is KIDAT's fashion show. Every collection on the runway is student work, from first sketch to final fitting.

Students learn design and the business around it. Finished pieces can be photographed, published and put in front of real customers, so the feedback comes from the market as well as the classroom.
The questions parents ask first
What will my child have at the end?
A diploma from KIDAT, a portfolio, and garments they designed and made themselves.
What work can it lead to?
Designer, stylist, merchandiser, print designer, costume designer, or a label of their own.
What does it cost?
The programme fee is ₹90,000, paid in three parts: ₹10,000 at registration, ₹40,000 on orientation day, and ₹40,000 within four months of the first payment.
