Concept

Manasa's collection takes Hoysala temple art and Lord Krishna as its inspiration and carries them into Western silhouettes.

Her first idea was a traditional outfit, but it felt too common. She decided instead to make a Western outfit from traditional elements, which meant translating temple art into something wearable today.

She worked through many motifs and arrangements on screen; some did not sit right and some colours did not blend. After much experimentation the fabric was ready: a light lavender base with black motifs.

She designed a long, elegant gown with ruffles inspired by temple pillars, and floral embellishments drawn from Hoysala carvings. Every detail, from the sleeves to the silhouette, carries a touch of heritage, so the soul of tradition stays in a Western garment.
